How to Modify Your Xbox 360 Music

f you ever get bored of silence while navigating through your Xbox dashboard, you can now listen to your own music by adding Music to your background. Now every where you navigate on your Xbox360, including within your video games you can hear your favourite tunes.
Step
  1. Buy, borrow or download needed equipment if not already in possession of such.
  2. Get iPod (must be a 3rd Gen or newer) -IPod USB - downloaded Xbox360 update
    • If you do not have an updated Xbox 360 you can just connect your console to the internet by using an Ethernet cable and the update software will download automatically once connected to a computer with internet access
    • Turn off parental control on your Xbox, for this is essential for the whole process. It will NOT work otherwise
  3. Turn On Xbox360 and wait for the media centre.
  4. Scroll over to the music library and open it
  5. Connect your iPod using the USB port at the back of your Xbox (near the Ethernet input)
  6. Allow IPod to synch and load into your Xbox music library(If you disconnect now you will lose all music on your Xbox music library, IPod will be safe but Xbox won’t)
  7. Press “play all” in Xbox music library
  8. Once it generates all song names press the B button for “back”.
  9. Now press “Copy”.
  10. Then press “All”.
  11. Wait a moment for all your songs from the IPod to import into your Xbox music library
  12. Once it has copied all songs press on “save songs” ( this will take a second or two).
  13. Once it has finished click “play” to see if songs are actually present
  14. Now you can listen to your own music wherever you are, even in games
    • It won’t stop unless you manually stop it or your music library reaches the end of your song list
  15. To manually stop it, simply press the glowing green “X” in the middle of your joystick and scroll over to music and press stop.

Tips

  • these are the pros of this installation:
    • While your iPod is connected, it will recharge as it is synched to your Xbox just like a computer or laptop would.
    • You can save your music to your Xbox music library & share your music with anyone via local network or even with online friends
    • You can also make more space on you iPod and erase the songs on your IPod since you copied them to your Xbox 360
    • You’re able to disable this setting by simply pressing stop music in your menu (No effects to game or console settings as it is saved to your hard drive separately from everything else.)
